Digital Humanities 2024
3rd International Congress on Digital Humanities
Welcome to the III International Congress on Digital Humanities
From 5 to 8 June 2023, the 2nd International Congress on Digital Humanities will be held in the digital environment, organised by the Isabel de Villena Institute of Medieval and Renaissance Studies of the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir (IVEMIR-UCV), attached to the Vice-Rectorate for Research of the UCV, and the Territory, History and Digital Cultural Heritage Research Groupof the Catholic University of Avila (TEHIPACD-UCAV).
More than a simple label, this congress will allow us to understand the scope of this concept, which has a direct impact on the Humanities, a discipline that has existed since the dawn of creation, is present in all events, disciplines and actions of the human being and fosters the capacity for autonomy, critical spirit and comprehensive training at all levels.
The first edition of this congress, in May 2022, marked an important milestone, firstly because it involved collaboration in scientific dissemination by two Catholic universities, Valencia and Avila; and secondly, because it focused on a field of study that is constantly growing in the society of the 21st century, the Digital Humanities.
This second conference will offer a new description of the scope of the Digital Humanities from different aspects, such as Archival Studies, Literature, Language and History, which explain today's culture and society.
This international congress has been structured in four days, in each of which two invited lectures will be given, followed by a space for communications, selected by the scientific committee.
We invite undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, as well as the general public interested in Digital Humanities.
Lorem Ipsum is simply the filler text of printing presses and text archives. Lorem Ipsum has been the standard filler text of industries since the 1500s, when an unknown printer used a gallery of texts and mixed them in such a way that he managed to make a specimen book of texts. Not only did it survive 500 years, but it also found its way into electronic documents as filler text, remaining essentially the same as the original. It was popularised in the 1960s with the creation of "Letraset" sheets, which contained Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software, such as Aldus PageMaker, which includes versions of Lorem Ipsum.
It is a long-established fact that a reader will be distracted by the text content of a site while looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more or less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using texts such as "Content here, content here". These texts make it look like readable Spanish. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors use Lorem Ipsum as their default text, and a search for "Lorem Ipsum" will return many websites that use this text if they are in a state of development. Many versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (e.g. by inserting humour and the like).
